One dad, learning to raise a quiet kid
Some kids leap. Some kids watch.
Both are brave.
I’m raising one of the quiet ones. Tell me what yours is wrestling with — loud or quiet — and I’ll deal you a real story from raising my son Logan. No formulas, just one dad figuring it out.

Who’s dealing these cards?
I’m Louis — dad to a boy named Logan, and a quiet kid myself once, the one who hung back at the party and watched the other kids play. I spent a long time thinking something was wrong with me. It took most of my life to learn there wasn’t. Now I’m raising my own quiet kid, and I write these stories partly for him — a kind of letter for the day he’s a dad himself — and partly for anyone else up late, loving a child they don’t always know how to help. The joys and the hard parts, honestly.
